Tara joined X Equals in 2018 as an Events and Programming Manager. Tara has extensive event management and programming experience. She previously managed events for the Development Team at Shakespeare’s Globe and programmed two large-scale cultural event programmes at the Royal Over-Seas League.
Tara began volunteering with TEDxLondon in 2017 as a Speaker Admin Coordinator, principally because she wanted to bring traditionally “academic” ideas and research to a wider audience. Now, as the Speaker Curation Manager, Tara is instrumental part of the curation team, researching ideas and speakers, helping speakers develop their talks and managing all speaker logistics. In 2019, TEDxLondon’s flagship event saw over 2,500 people come to the Southbank Centre for an immersive all-day event. Since Tara joined the team in 2017, TEDxLondon videos have been viewed over 2 million times online, she has helped run 4 events and managed over 70 speakers.
Tara studied English as an undergraduate at the University of York and completed her Masters in Contemporary Literature at King’s College London. She remains fascinated by feminism, contemporary writing, gaming and digital culture and regularly attends events and workshops on these topics.
She is excited to bring her event production and writing and curation background to X Equals.
