Storytelling is part of the human experience and essential for any great event, talk or pitch. We believe everyone benefits when an idea is expressed in a compelling way.
Over the past 10 years, we have worked with hundreds of speakers to build their confidence, harness their authentic voice and tell stories that can change the world.
We are experts in creating events that inspire, motivate and build your brand – from designing innovative formats to curating diverse and unexpected speakers.
We draw on over 10 years of experience running TEDx, corporate and charity events.
Maryam and Tara have been wonderful to work with on the TCS Spark Salon. They bring inspirational speakers, creative ideas and smooth delivery to our events programme. The X Equals team delivered several events in a true partnership with TCS, as well as a podcast series featuring top quality speakers and brimming with ideas about how tech can change society for good. Thanks for a great 2019!
Maryam is an incredible event curator and organiser. Working with her over the last 5 years to deliver large complex events has been a pleasure. She is always on it with a big vision and the ability to make it happen. Her experience enables her to think ahead, manage risks and inspire her team to give their best. I cannot recommend her enough, she has creative flair as well as a very safe pair of hands to take on your project or event and make it amazing.
I have found Maryam to be an open individual who is great to work with, full of ideas and the energy and drive that is essential. She is capable of thinking on her feet, able to relate to colleagues, clients and supporters from all walks of life and committed to delivering the best possible experience for every event she leads.
I met Maryam when I was preparing to give my first TEDx talk. I was part of a small group on one of her public-speaking masterclasses. She knew exactly how to get each one of us – with varying degrees of public-speaking experience under our belts – to realise how we could up our game and become more compelling speakers. For her, it wasn’t about your standard pitch or spiel; she was focused on finding that one idea we had tucked inside that would be memorable to strangers – and to do so in your own voice and narrative style. I loved the masterclass so much that I asked her to deliver the same for my entire team. They loved their experience, too!
We engaged Maryam to coach a diverse group of employees who were pitching their ideas to the EDF Energy senior leadership team. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Maryam. She has an incredible talent for understanding what’s going on behind the words, putting people at ease, knowing what to say and how to say it. She spent less than a day with our intrapreneurs yet transformed their confidence and belief in themselves. Maryam is a dream to work with and would recommend her to anyone, whether a novice or an experienced speaker.
I worked with Maryam when she was the event manager for the Open Data Institute’s summit and awards ceremony in 2016. She is an events demon, understanding all the nuances of putting on a successful event – from speaker management to production to motivating the team. She is a joy to work with, full of creativity and energy, and I wouldn’t hesitate to work with her again.
Maryam Pasha is an inspiration! She is an excellent manager of people and projects, knowing how to get the most out of her speakers, coaching them through the process of delivering a presentation and empowering them to reach their full potential on the day. Maryam is a unique blend of creativity, professionalism and drive. Her energy is infectious. She is clearly very highly thought of by her team and this to me speaks volumes.
Maryam curated the fabulous TEDx East London 2016 at which I spoke.Of course it was faultlessly organised, brilliantly put together, exciting and fun. And the team of volunteers she recruited and managed were effortlessly helpful, on message and lovely. To be honest none of that surprised me. But seeing Maryam presenting, encouraging, holding the whole thing together was a real pleasure. If you don’t get Maryam to curate and run your event you are missing out big time.
Maryam was a pleasure to work with, always positive even in the face of deadlines and pressure she remained calm and focussed. She was also a real asset on site at the live event acting as part artist liaison and part stage manager. It is a pleasure to recommend Maryam as a partner or freelancer. I look forward to working with her again.
When I was asked to do a TEDx talk with TEDxEastEnd, I was excited but also incredibly anxious. Maryam was so useful in guiding me in what my key messages were and what my presentational style was going to be. She never judged me or changed me into someone else. Maryam is a woman with her fingers in lots of pies – lots of right on, cutting edge, avant-garde sort of pies!
Maryam worked with Social Tech Trust and Vodafone to support our Techstarter finalists in getting pitch-ready for investment. We were hugely impressed with Maryam’s insight, enthusiasm and expertise. The ventures she supported all felt more confident and well-equipped to pitch their products and services after her training session. I would highly recommend using Maryam if you need some support in presenting and pitching – her passion and energy is contagious!
Maryam is a confident and relaxed public speaker, keeping the audience engaged throughout with great storytelling technique. She takes to speaking engagements like the pro she is – with efficiency, attention to detail, and a passion for her subject. Maryam is also a pleasure to work with and I hope our paths cross again in the future!
Maryam was great. I’m a pretty experienced speech writer and speaker and she helped me I improve the content and the delivery of my talk. Highly recommended.
Maryam was absolutely fantastic to work with. She provided me with help and support from the beginning of my TEDx journey, she was friendly and knowledgeable, and gave great advice on how to frame the narrative and really helped with getting the tone right for a TEDx audience. I am sad that it is over, and I hope that I will get a chance to work with her again soon, as it was such a pleasure!
